I’ve always liked the sound of silk wraps – alluring and exotic, a secretive practice that only a few are allowed access to. Turns out, I was sort of right. You may also see silk nail wraps associated with fiberglass nails – an increasingly popular method of making natural nails stronger and appear healthier.

Sharp Scissors and Tweezers
After doing my own silk manicures a good few times now, here’s a couple of tips:
- Resin sets quickly, so always wipe the bottle top and keep the lid on
- Store the delicate silk wraps in a box, separate from the rest of your kit
- Use tweezers to apply the silk as you don’t want it to absorb oils from your skin
- When spraying the setter, keep about 1.5 -2’’ away
- Apply enough resin to cover the mesh
