Coral Acrylic Nail Polishes – Overview of this Season’s Big Trend
Sophistication personified, all shades of coral are chic and elegant, but with a touch of enigma about them. Not quite pink, red or orange, but all three together, coral is bold and knows how to stand up for itself.
Working well for most skin tones, choosing coral suggests that you are warm, friendly and welcoming. Often intuitive, you rely on your instincts – and are rarely wrong. It can stimulate emotional and mental energy, as well as encouraging social interactions, and along with its complementary color, teal, can show a strong desire to be unique.
I’ve never been drawn to the color coral, maybe because it’s said to represent diplomacy, and diplomatic is one thing I’m not! But after searching through the wide variety of nail polishes, I’ve developed a strong admiration for all things coral, so here are my top three polishes.
1) ZOYA Nail Polish – Heidi
What Makes it Great
I’m honestly not sure why this bold, bright shade is named ‘Heidi’, but it’s been developed for the catwalks of New York, London, Paris, and Milan, and as a result, ‘Heidi’ is trending. It’s a gloriously feminine, creamy coral, possessing a welcoming tonal quality that oozes affection and warm embraces. With my usual two topcoat routine, it lasted well into two weeks before my nails developed a chip, and those two weeks were full of nail compliments. I will be hanging onto this polish as a result!
Where it Could be Improved
It was a little ‘gloopy’ when I opened the bottle, so I added a drop or two of nail polish thinner and gently rolled the bottle between my palms to mix. This made all the difference, and the resulting application was smooth and flowing. However, I do think this was an issue that wasn’t caused during the production process.
If you want a color that compliments your skin tone, elicits admiration and possesses longevity, this is the one for you.

2) ILNP Holographic Nail Polish – On Location
What Makes it Great
The twinkle from this holographic coral polish gives your nails an added depth of mystery akin to peering through sun-sparkling water to the coral reef below. To a color already unusual, it lends an eye-catching rarity that will capture any gaze. Once a couple of high gloss top coats are applied, the intensity is dazzling, and will remain dazzling for almost three weeks.
Where it Could be Improved
One coat, once cured, appeared streaky, but after a second one, it reached smooth and sleek perfection.
This unusual polish has all the fizz of a holographic finish, but with the beautiful warm glow of coral.

3) CND Nail Polish – Lobster Roll
What Makes it Great
With the quick-drying formula CND are renowned for, Lobster Roll (seriously?) has to be applied relatively speedily. But once on, the glorious notes shine through. A rich, salmony coral, bursting with boldness, whilst still showing a sensitive, approachable side, lighthearted but sincere, I really like this. Its longevity is a bonus – over two weeks damage-free.
Where it Could be Improved
The shaped brush took a little getting used to, but once it became familiar, it leaves very little to clean up.
If you’re looking for something that defines your uniqueness and chic good taste, this is well worth considering.
